Barbary Apes

I wanted to tell you about the Apes. They are used to people and will come up to you and touch you. But, you cannot touch them. They eat mostly fruits and vegetables. If you feed them, the authorities will fine you 500 pounds. They jump all over the place. Mike was standing around the apes and one jumped on his chest and then jumped to another place. They have very sharp teeth. But, they are amazing. They live to be around 26 years old. They are taken care of by Gibraltar authorities and their names birth dates are tattooed on the inside of their thighs.
Not sure of his name. All apes are named and the tour guides and the Apes know each other because they see each other almost every day
Apes are fed fruits and vegetables. This is one of the places where food is set out by the Gibralter Authorities
Mike, an ape, and our tour guide
This ape kept on trying to touch our guide. It is allowed if he wants to touch her. She cannot try to touch him. Some of the apes come right up and sit on someones shoulders and hands. It is ok if the ape wants it.
one of the apes on the guides car. They will eventually hop off when the guide drives away. The guide can't take the ape off. Usually there are a lot of fingerprints on the car and windows
We were told not to look the Apes in the eye because they will feel threatened
